BIENNIAL AWARD SHOW
ST. JOSEPH, MO. –The Allied Arts Council is pleased to
announce the 2011 Biennial Award Show. Mark Pantle, this
year’s award recipient, will be honored at an opening
reception on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30
p.m. at City Hal, 1100 Frederick, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The reception is free and open to the public.
The Biennial Award, funded by the Allied Arts Council and
the Missouri Arts Council, honors lifetime achievement and
commitment to the arts. The recipient is awarded an
exhibit of his or her work at the location of an Arts Fund
supporter. This year’s show, sponsored by City Hall, will
feature twenty of Marks works displayed in City Hall. The
exhibit will be on view from January 27 through February
25.
Mark Pantle of
Nortonville, Kansas is very disciplined in every medium
with which he works. His subject matter portrays the
essence of the agricultural American heartland of past
eras, reminding us of our rural roots and the value of
hard work.
His paintings have been
displayed in the Topeka Capitol and the National
Agriculture Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, Kansas, and he
demonstrated coloredpencil on the Art Train, U.S.A. He was
co-creator of a commissioned commemorative mural for the
Atchison Housing Authority, and was one of the top
twenty-five contenders for the design of the Kansas state
quarter. A few of his paintings are on display at the
Muchnic Art Gallery in Atchison, and he is a member of the
Riverwalk Art Association, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Pantle said, “I would
like to thank all the people who influenced me, also the
ones that pushed, prodded, and shoved me along to
continue to do artwork. I thank each and every one of
you for your support and help.”
