Artist Roster - Performances & Tours for Students

Artists in the Schools, a program of the Allied Arts Council, offers cultural enrichment to students in grades pre-K-12 in public and parochial schools in the St. Joseph area.

The program provides cultural enrichment for students as they have the experience of watching the creative process in action.  They discover artists as real people who possess talents that they, too, can acquire.

Thanks to our Arts Education Committee, which includes current and retired classroom and fine arts teachers, please note corresponding numbers from the Missouri Show-Me Standards at the beginning of the program descriptions.

Any teacher may request an artist by completing a request form.  Sessions are free to schools within the St. Joseph city limits, and only $20 for schools outside of the city limits.  Contact the Allied Arts Council for forms and availability information.

This year features sixteen artists, each with unique talents, practicing in a variety of disciplines.  As always, our artists are available to fit the expanded enrichment needs of the classroom, and all educators are encouraged to participate.  Due to budgetary cuts, our sessions may be limited for the 2007-2008 school year, so get your requests in early.

The Artists in the Schools program is fully endorsed by the St. Joseph School District and is partially funded by the Arts Fund of the Allied Arts Council and the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency. The PTA Council, individual PTAs, and local civic groups donate additional support.
