WINNERS ANNOUNCED
IN
ART FOR THE HEALTH OF IT SHOW
Beth
Barbosa, Nancy Clisbee, and Dot Miriani are the
first-place winners in the Spring 2011 Art for the
Health of It competition, sponsored by the Allied
Arts Council, East Hills Library and Heartland Regional
Medical Center.
The
winners were announced at a reception, Thursday, March
3, at East Hills Library. Works entered in the
competition are on exhibit at East Hills Library through
May 3, 2011.
Beth Barbosa took first place honors in the painting
category with a work titled “Waiting for Prince
Charming” and also won Best of Show. Dot Miriani took
first place in drawing with a work titled
“Anticipation,” and also first place in photography with
a work entitled “Common Elegance.” Nancy Clisbee took
first place in the other category with a work titled
“Time Piece: Observer.” Home schooled Sydney Graves won
first place in the student division with a work titled
“Reflections of Jade.”
Prizes include $100 for Best of Show, $75 for first
place in the adult divisions, and $25 in the student
division. Judges for the competition were: Shelly Grier,
Dan Ramming, and Wanda Taylor.
The Arts Fund of the Allied Arts Council, and the
Missouri Arts Council, a state agency, provide funding
for Art for the Health of It.
