art for the health of it:
[ RETURN to Council
Programs ]
Art
for the Health of It is co-sponsored
by the Allied Arts Council and Heartland
Regional Medical Center of St. Joseph. The program
provides an opportunity for local artists to exhibit
their work at Heartland Hospital. Held twice
annually, the exhibits provide interest to patients,
visitors, and employees of the hospitals. The
Allied Arts Council accepts entries for the Art for
the Health of It exhibit each spring and fall. The
entry fee is $15.00 per artwork. High School students
may enter in the student category free of charge.
Participants
art work is displayed at Heartland Regional Medical
Center near the heart wing. The exhibits run
approximately two month. All entries are judged by a
panel of jurors in the following categories: Painting,
Drawing, Photography, and Other. A cash prize of $75.00
is awarded in each category, and a $100.00 cash prize
for “Best of Show. A $25 cash prize is awarded
to the best high school student entry.
A
reception for artists and friends is held at the opening
of each exhibit. Contact Tammy Santos at 816-233-0231
